THREE JOBS, ONE PASS.
Edit Video brings together the three jobs that are most often done together: selecting the range you want, cropping the frame and rotating the image. Here is what matters: all three are applied in the same pass. Running them through separate tools would re-encode the video three times, and every encode takes a little quality away. Here it is encoded once.
The range is chosen with start and end seconds; if you leave the end at 0, everything to the end of the file is kept. Cropping is done from the four edges as percentages, and you can pick a preset ratio lock (1:1, 16:9, 9:16, 4:5, 4:3) to fit the frame to that ratio. Rotation is 90, 180 and 270 degrees; mirroring is horizontal, vertical or both. Any setting you leave untouched is never applied to the image.
From start to finish
- Upload your video. Drag or choose your file. MP4, MOV, MKV, AVI, WebM and M4V files can be uploaded, up to 10 GB.
- Choose what to do. Fill in whichever of the range, crop, rotate and mirror settings you need. Whatever you leave empty is not applied.
- Process it in one go and download. Pick the output format and quality, then start. The three operations are done together and a single file downloads.
Frequently asked questions
Why should I use this instead of the separate tools?
Quality and time. If you use the trim, crop and rotate tools one after another, you upload the video three times and it is re-encoded three times. Every encode is lossy; three passes mean three times the loss. Here there is only one encode.
What is the ratio lock for?
It fits the frame to a specific aspect ratio. Pick 9:16 for vertical video or 1:1 for a square post and you do not have to work out the edge percentages by hand.
What happens if I leave the end at 0?
Everything to the end of the video is kept. If you only want to trim from the start, give a start value and leave the end at 0.
Does my file stay on the server?
No. Your file reaches the server only to be processed and is deleted when the job is done; the output is deleted too once you download it and leave the tool. You don't need an account, a name or an email address, and your files are never sent to a third-party service. It is free to use: we set no hourly or daily quota on the number of jobs, we don't make you watch an ad before processing, and we add no watermark to the output.
