FLIP THE PICTURE LIKE A MIRROR.
Mirror Image turns an image into its mirror image. A horizontal flip swaps left and right; it is used to fix front-camera photos where the text appears reversed, or to change the direction a product faces. A vertical flip swaps top and bottom; it is handy for water-reflection effects or images scanned upside down. “Both” flips the two axes together; the result is the same as rotating by 180 degrees.
Flipping moves pixels around without recalculating them; any loss comes only from the output format you choose. The output can be WebP, PNG, JPG or AVIF; PNG is lossless and JPG turns transparent areas white. The EXIF orientation tag of phone photos is applied before processing, so the flip is done on the image you see on screen. EXIF information is removed by default. If you want to rotate the image rather than flip it, use “Rotate Image”. You can upload up to 20 images at once; they are all processed with the same settings, and several files download as a single ZIP.
From start to finish
- Upload your image. Drag and drop or choose the file. JPG, PNG, WebP, AVIF, HEIC and other common formats are accepted.
- Choose the axis and format. Horizontal (left ↔ right), vertical (top ↔ bottom) or both. Then set the output format and quality.
- Flip and download. Check the result in the preview and download it. The copy on the server is deleted when you leave the tool.
Frequently asked questions
The text is reversed in a photo I took with the front camera. Which option?
Horizontal. The front camera records the picture like a mirror; a horizontal flip makes the text readable again.
What is the difference between flipping and rotating?
Rotating turns the image around a point; the content is not reversed. Flipping swaps left and right, or top and bottom, so text becomes reversed. Only “Both” gives the same result as a 180-degree rotation.
Can I flip a video too?
This tool only handles images. For video, use “Mirror Video”.
Does my file stay on the server?
No. Your file reaches the server only to be processed and is deleted when the job is done; the output is deleted too once you download it and leave the tool. You don't need an account, a name or an email address, and your files are never sent to a third-party service. It is free to use: we set no hourly or daily quota on the number of jobs, we don't make you watch an ad before processing, and we add no watermark to the output.
