TURN PLAIN TEXT INTO A DOCUMENT.
TXT → Word turns plain text files into an editable Word (DOCX) document. Each line becomes its own paragraph and the spaces at the start of the line are preserved; that way indented notes, lists and the layout of a poem are not spoiled. The result is a modern DOCX file, not the old DOC format, and opens in Word, LibreOffice and Google Docs; it is ready for you to add formatting, put in headings or move the text into a report. Besides TXT, MD, LOG, CSV, JSON, XML, YAML, SRT, VTT, HTML and code files can also be uploaded.
The type size is chosen between 8 and 20 points, and 11 is the default. The “monospaced font” option uses a font in which every letter is the same width, for code, logs and aligned tables. The character encoding of the file is found by itself: UTF-8 and the old Turkish Windows encodings are read correctly. Because Word (DOCX) carries every alphabet, Cyrillic, Arabic and Asian scripts and emoji are preserved too; how they look depends on the fonts of the program you open it in. Text files up to 8 MB can be uploaded. You can upload up to 20 files at once; they are all processed with the same settings, and several files download as a single ZIP.
From start to finish
- Upload your text file. Drag the file in or select it. The encoding is found by itself.
- Choose the type size and the font. 11 points for normal text. If you are converting code or a log, switch the monospaced font on.
- Convert and download. Download the Word (DOCX) file and open it in an office program. The copy on the server is deleted when you leave the tool.
Frequently asked questions
Is Markdown formatting (headings, bold) applied?
No. The text is moved as it is; marks such as # and ** stay as plain writing.
Why is each line a separate paragraph?
In plain text every line ending is a deliberate break. Making the lines separate paragraphs preserves the line layout of the file exactly.
What is the difference from TXT → PDF?
Word (DOCX) is editable and carries every alphabet. PDF has a fixed look and is ready to share and print, but it only prints the Latin alphabet and Turkish letters.
Does my file stay on the server?
No. Your file reaches the server only to be processed and is deleted when the job is done; the output is deleted too once you download it and leave the tool. You don't need an account, a name or an email address, and your files are never sent to a third-party service. It is free to use: we set no hourly or daily quota on the number of jobs, we don't make you watch an ad before processing, and we add no watermark to the output.
