LESS NOISE. SAME VOICE.
Audio Noise Removal reduces the steady noise behind a recording: air-conditioning and traffic hum, the microphone’s own hiss, the crackle of old recordings. The cleanup runs in three stages. First, if you want, everything below 80 Hz is cut; that band carries no information in speech, yet holds most of the noise. Then click removal fixes sudden spikes. Finally the main frequency-domain cleaner suppresses broadband hiss, and a limiter at the output keeps the peaks within a safe range.
The strength level decides how much is suppressed. The Light setting reduces noise somewhat while leaving the sound almost untouched; Medium gives a balanced result for most recordings; Strong makes a clear difference on noisy recordings, but speech can sound metallic. If the noise shares the same frequencies as the speech, suppressing it also dulls the voice itself — so the right approach is to try Medium first, listen to the result and raise it if needed. If you upload a video, only the audio track is taken. The output can be MP3, Opus, Vorbis, FLAC, WAV or M4A. You can upload up to 8 files at once; they are all processed with the same settings, and several files download as a single ZIP.
From start to finish
- Upload your audio or video file. Drag and drop or choose the file. For video, only the audio track is processed.
- Pick the strength, and tick hum and clicks if needed. Start with Medium. If there is air conditioning or traffic, leave the low-hum cut on; turn it off for music.
- Clean and download. Listen to the result and download it. The copy on the server is deleted when you leave the tool.
Frequently asked questions
Does the noise disappear completely?
No, it is reduced. If the noise is mixed into the same frequencies as the speech, removing it completely would mean removing the voice as well. The goal is to make the recording listenable; even on the Strong setting some noise may remain.
Can I use it on music too?
Yes, but turn off “Cut low hum”: that option removes everything below 80 Hz, so bass instruments thin out. For music the Light or Medium strength is usually enough.
Can I put the cleaned audio back into the video?
This tool produces an audio file. You can put the result back into the video with “Add Audio to Video”.
Does my file stay on the server?
No. Your file reaches the server only to be processed and is deleted when the job is done; the output is deleted too once you download it and leave the tool. You don't need an account, a name or an email address, and your files are never sent to a third-party service. It is free to use: we set no hourly or daily quota on the number of jobs, we don't make you watch an ad before processing, and we add no watermark to the output.
