WebP → JPG
Converts WebP files to JPG, which opens everywhere.

IF WEBP WON'T OPEN, MAKE IT JPG.
WebP → JPG turns WebP images downloaded from the web into the JPG format that opens everywhere. Many sites serve images as WebP; but older editing programs, some office software, email clients and form uploaders do not accept WebP. JPG solves that in a single step. The quality has five levels; to keep the look of the source, choose High (88%) or Very high (95%).
JPG carries no transparency: transparent areas in the WebP turn white. If you need to keep transparency, “WebP → PNG” gives lossless, transparent output. EXIF data is removed by default. The conversion does not improve the image; a low-resolution WebP stays exactly as small once converted to JPG. For enlarging there is the “Image Upscaler” tool. You can upload up to 20 images at once; they are all processed with the same settings, and several files download as a single ZIP.
From start to finish
- Upload your WebP file. Drag the file in or select it. The dimensions and the transparency details are read.
- Choose the quality. High or Very high to keep the loss from re-compression to a minimum. Make your EXIF choice.
- Convert and download. The JPG is ready within seconds. Download it; the copy on the server is deleted when you leave the tool.
Frequently asked questions
Does the quality drop?
Going from WebP to JPG is a second lossy encoding; at High (88%) and above the difference cannot be picked out by eye. The lower levels make the file smaller but can leave traces. To avoid the loss altogether, choose “WebP → PNG”.
Can an animated WebP be converted?
Only the first frame is taken; JPG does not carry moving pictures. To keep the animation you would have to convert it to video; there is no separate tool for animated WebP.
The transparent background turned white; can it be another colour?
In JPG the background always turns white. If you want a different backdrop, first take a transparent PNG with “WebP → PNG”, add the backdrop in an editing program, and then convert it to JPG.
Does my file stay on the server?
No. Your file reaches the server only to be processed and is deleted when the job is done; the output is deleted too once you download it and leave the tool. You don't need an account, a name or an email address, and your files are never sent to a third-party service. It is free to use: we set no hourly or daily quota on the number of jobs, we don't make you watch an ad before processing, and we add no watermark to the output.
