TURN A PDF PAGE INTO A JPG.
PDF → JPG converts PDF pages into JPG images that open everywhere. JPG's strength is compatibility: the phone gallery, e-mail, older office programs and social media all accept it. You choose the quality; 88% gives a small file with no visible loss for most documents, 95% is for print and archiving. Pages are rasterised with Chrome's PDF rendering engine (PDFium); embedded fonts and vector drawings appear exactly as they are. JPG has no transparency; the page background is drawn white.
File size is set by resolution and quality together. 150 dpi is enough for reading on screen and sharing; 300 dpi is for print and doubles each side compared with 150 dpi. 95% quality makes the file clearly larger than 88% (about a third on a text page, more than double on a photo page); in return, colour information is stored at full resolution and the edges of coloured text stay clean. JPGs are saved as progressive: on a web page they show coarse first, then sharp. If you only need some pages, type 2, 4-6 or 10-; leaving the field empty means the whole document. Text becomes part of the image and cannot be selected or copied; to edit it, use the “PDF → Word” tool. You can upload up to 8 PDFs at once; with several documents, each one's output sits in the ZIP under its own name.
From start to finish
- Upload your PDF. Drag it in or pick it; up to 8 PDFs are processed together. The page count is read.
- Choose pages, resolution and quality. An empty field means every page. 88% is enough for most documents; choose 80% to keep an attachment small.
- Download. A single page downloads as a .jpg; several pages arrive in one ZIP as page-numbered JPGs.
Frequently asked questions
What JPG quality should I use?
For text-heavy pages 88% is enough; choose 95% if you don't want any JPG artefacts around letter edges. 65% only makes sense when a small file is essential. For a lossless result use the “PDF → PNG” tool.
Does coloured text get blurry?
Not at 95% quality: colour information is stored at full resolution. At 88% and below, colour detail is kept at half resolution, which is standard JPG behaviour; small red or blue text may show slight fringing at the edges. Black text shows no difference. To keep every edge sharp, use the “PDF → PNG” tool.
Why is the page background white?
JPG cannot carry transparency. Pages whose background is left empty in the PDF are drawn on white; coloured or photo backgrounds stay as they are. To remove the page margins, crop the output with “Image Crop”.
Does my file stay on the server?
No. Your file reaches the server only to be processed and is deleted when the job is done; the output is deleted too once you download it and leave the tool. You don't need an account, a name or an email address, and your files are never sent to a third-party service. It is free to use: we set no hourly or daily quota on the number of jobs, we don't make you watch an ad before processing, and we add no watermark to the output.
