GET THE TABLE READY TO PRINT.
Excel → PDF turns a spreadsheet into a PDF ready to print and share. With the default “Keep layout”, the file is converted by the open-source LibreOffice: cell colors, borders, merged cells, charts, and the print area and page orientation set in the file are kept. Cells with formulas show the formula's result. Besides XLSX, old Excel (.xls) and OpenDocument (.ods) files open too.
“Text only” sets out the cell values as a plain table: each worksheet is written under its own heading and the first row can be highlighted as a header row; formatting and charts are not carried over. On this path you choose the page size, orientation, point size and “Each worksheet on a new page”; up to 20,000 rows per worksheet are read. “Keep layout” takes files of up to 50 MB, “Text only” up to 120 MB. You can upload up to 8 documents at once; all are processed with the same settings, and several files download as a single ZIP.
From start to finish
- Upload your Excel file. XLSX, XLS or ODS; drag it in or choose it.
- Pick the conversion path. For the look of the table, “Keep layout”. For values only, pick “Text only”; the page settings then appear.
- Convert and download. Download the PDF once it is ready. The copy on the server is deleted when you leave the tool.
Frequently asked questions
Are the formulas written, or the results?
The results. If there is a formula in a cell, what appears in the PDF is the calculated value saved in the file, not the formula itself.
Why are my charts missing?
With “Keep layout” charts, images and formatting go into the PDF. If a chart doesn't show, “Text only” is most likely selected; that path writes only the cell values.
The table does not fit on the page.
“Keep layout” uses the print settings in the file: save the table in your spreadsheet program with fit-to-page or landscape orientation and upload it again. With “Text only”, switch to landscape and lower the point size.
Does my file stay on the server?
No. Your file reaches the server only to be processed and is deleted when the job is done; the output is deleted too once you download it and leave the tool. You don't need an account, a name or an email address, and your files are never sent to a third-party service. It is free to use: we set no hourly or daily quota on the number of jobs, we don't make you watch an ad before processing, and we add no watermark to the output.
