MAKE PAGES LIGHT FOR THE WEB.
PDF → WebP converts PDF pages into WebP images designed for the web. At the same visible quality WebP produces files noticeably smaller than JPG and far smaller than PNG; every modern browser opens it and the format is royalty-free. When you prepare page images for a document preview, a blog post, a product catalog or an online shop, this is the easiest way to keep the page fast. Pages are rasterised with Chrome's PDF rendering engine (PDFium); embedded fonts and vector drawings appear exactly as they are.
Two settings are enough for page images meant for the web. Resolution: 110–150 dpi is enough for a page shown at full width on screen; higher values only help with images that will be zoomed and slow down page loading. Quality: 80% is balanced for the web; choose 88% if small print should not soften. At the same quality setting, WebP takes roughly half to two thirds of the space of JPG. To take only the cover and product pages from a catalog, type pages as 1, 4-9 or 12-. Text inside an image is not text for search engines and screen readers; add alt text when you place it on your site. You can upload up to 8 PDFs at once; with several documents, each one's output sits in the ZIP under its own name.
From start to finish
- Upload your PDF. Drag in or pick a catalog, brochure or presentation PDF.
- Set pages, resolution and quality. Leave it empty and every page becomes WebP. For the web, 110–150 dpi and 80% are usually enough.
- Download. A single page downloads as a .webp, several pages arrive in a ZIP. You can upload the images straight to your site or store dashboard.
Frequently asked questions
Does WebP open everywhere?
Every current browser, Windows 10 and later, macOS and phones open it. If you are preparing images for a very old program or device, use the “PDF → JPG” tool.
What quality should I use?
For pages shown on a web page, 80% is enough. If small text or fine lines need to be read, choose 88%. 95% makes the file noticeably bigger and only makes sense if you will edit the image again later. 65% suits small previews and listing images.
Can I get the pages in another format too?
Yes. Upload the same PDF to the “PDF → JPG” or “PDF → PNG” tool; if you want to pick the format each time, there is “PDF → Image”. To convert WebP files you already have, use the “WebP → JPG” and “WebP → PNG” tools.
Does my file stay on the server?
No. Your file reaches the server only to be processed and is deleted when the job is done; the output is deleted too once you download it and leave the tool. You don't need an account, a name or an email address, and your files are never sent to a third-party service. It is free to use: we set no hourly or daily quota on the number of jobs, we don't make you watch an ad before processing, and we add no watermark to the output.
