RGB → HEX converts red, green and blue values into a hexadecimal color code. Each channel is entered as a number between 0 and 255; values outside the limit are pulled to the nearest valid one. The moment you type, the color preview updates and the results appear: the HEX code, the RGB notation, the HSL value and a CSS variable you can paste into a style sheet. It is ideal for using an RGB value taken from an image editing program or a design document on the web.
The result list also tells you whether dark or light text should be put on this color; the suggestion is worked out from the perceived brightness of the color. You can also fill the values in by picking a color from the color picker. The tool works in both directions: when you type into the HEX field the RGB values update as well, which is why it shares a screen with “HEX → RGB”. The CMYK values used for printing are not in this tool; screen colors work with RGB. The calculation is done entirely in your browser, and the values you enter are not sent anywhere.

Frequently asked questions
Which HEX is rgb(255, 255, 255)?
#FFFFFF, that is white. And rgb(0, 0, 0) is #000000, black.
My values are between 0 and 1 (0.5, for example). What should I do?
Multiply each value by 255 and round it: 0.5 comes to about 128. The tool expects the 0–255 range.
Can I convert to CMYK?
No. This tool works with screen colors (RGB, HEX, HSL). Print color conversion depends on the paper and the ink, so it has to be done in a print program.
Is the data I enter sent to the server?
No. This tool runs entirely in your browser; nothing you type or add is sent to the RUPO Studio server. It keeps working while the page is open even if your internet connection drops.
