FIX THAT SIDEWAYS PHOTO.
Rotate Image turns photos and images 90 degrees to the right, 90 degrees to the left or 180 degrees. The image is not shrunk and no edges are cut off: with a 90-degree turn, width and height swap and a landscape photo becomes portrait. A document scanned upside down, a photo taken sideways or a screenshot that sits the wrong way round is fixed in one step.
In photos taken with a phone, the orientation is often not in the picture itself but in a tag inside the EXIF data. The tool applies that tag first and then adds the angle you choose, so the result rotates relative to what you see on screen and looks the same in every program. The output format can be WebP, PNG, JPG or AVIF; JPG turns transparent areas white and PNG is lossless. EXIF information is removed by default. If you want to flip the image like a mirror, use “Mirror Image”. You can upload up to 20 images at once; they are all processed with the same settings, and several files download as a single ZIP.
From start to finish
- Upload your image. Drag and drop or choose the file. JPG, PNG, WebP, AVIF, HEIC and other common formats are accepted.
- Choose the angle and format. 90° right, 180° or 90° left. Then set the output format and quality.
- Rotate and download. Check the orientation in the preview and download the result. The copy on the server is deleted when you leave the tool.
Frequently asked questions
My photo looks upright on my phone but sideways on my computer. Why?
The phone saves the picture in landscape and writes the orientation to an EXIF tag, which some programs ignore. The image tools in RUPO Studio burn that tag into the picture itself. If you only want to fix this without rotating, just run the image through “Image Converter”.
Is there any quality loss?
Rotating by 90 or 180 degrees doesn't recalculate pixels; it only moves them. Any loss comes from the output format alone: none with PNG, and not noticeable with WebP or JPG at the High level.
Can I rotate by any angle (e.g. 3°)?
No. This tool only rotates by 90, 180 and 270 degrees; it doesn't offer free angles for straightening a tilted horizon.
Does my file stay on the server?
No. Your file reaches the server only to be processed and is deleted when the job is done; the output is deleted too once you download it and leave the tool. You don't need an account, a name or an email address, and your files are never sent to a third-party service. It is free to use: we set no hourly or daily quota on the number of jobs, we don't make you watch an ad before processing, and we add no watermark to the output.
