KEEP YOUR WORDS IN FRAME.
Add Text to Video burns the text you type onto the image. The position is chosen from six points: top left, top center, top right, bottom left, bottom center, bottom right. The text size is given as a percentage of the image height (between 2% and 20%), so the same setting stays balanced on both vertical and horizontal video. The margin keeps the text from sticking to the edge of the frame. If you like, you can set the moment the text appears and disappears in seconds; leave both at 0 and the text stays from the start of the video to the end.
The background band option places a dark bar behind the text. On bright, moving footage white text can become unreadable; the band solves that with a single setting. The color is one of six presets (white, black, yellow, red, green, blue), or you type a code such as #FF8800 in the “Custom color code” field. The text is burned into the image — it cannot be removed later, so keep your source file. You can upload up to 8 videos at once; they are all processed with the same settings, and several files download as a single ZIP.
From start to finish
- Upload your video. Drag or choose your file. MP4, MOV, MKV, AVI, WebM and M4V files can be uploaded, up to 10 GB.
- Set your text and where it goes. Type the text and pick one of the six positions. Set the size and margin as percentages; on a light background, turn the band on.
- Apply and download. Pick the output format and quality step, then start. The file downloads directly when it is ready.
Frequently asked questions
Can I remove the text later?
No. The text is burned into the pixels of the image, it does not sit on a separate layer. Keep your source video; if you want to change the text, start again from the source.
Do Turkish characters come out correctly?
Yes. All Turkish characters are rendered, including Ş, Ğ, İ, Ö, Ç, Ü and their lowercase forms. Chinese, Japanese, Korean and Hindi text is also rendered in its own font.
The text is hard to read, what should I do?
Turn on the background band. On a bright or moving background white text disappears; the band puts a dark bar behind the text and guarantees contrast. Alternatively you can switch the color to black or increase the size.
Does my file stay on the server?
No. Your file reaches the server only to be processed and is deleted when the job is done; the output is deleted too once you download it and leave the tool. You don't need an account, a name or an email address, and your files are never sent to a third-party service. It is free to use: we set no hourly or daily quota on the number of jobs, we don't make you watch an ad before processing, and we add no watermark to the output.
